      <image:title>Appropriations</image:title>
<image:caption>Der Kuss (Liebespaar) - The Kiss (Lovers), the most famous kiss in the world. 2007 Acrylic paint, gold leaf, gold paint, silver, and gold glitter on canvas 36" x 36", 91 x 91 cm Original: 1909, 71" x 71", 180 x 180 cm. Material: gold leaf, gold paint, silver, platinum, oil on zinc-white primed canvas; imitation gold leaf, glazed. This painting marks the culmination of Klimt's Golden Period. Its subject is a man and woman locked in an embrace, representing the fulfillment of life. Many indications suggest that Klimt also depicted his unfulfilled love for Emilie Flöge. Adorned with gold, silver, and platinum, the painting is also precious in terms of its materials. This highlights the artist's profoundly poetic approach to this fundamental theme in human life. With the rendering of this piece in 2007 I express my deeply felt appreciation for this painting since my teenage years.</image:caption>
